Privacy Policy

This policy describes the data handled when someone visits Dixon County Criminal History, the reasons it may be used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By using the site, a visitor accepts these practices. Search providers, government portals, and other linked services apply their own privacy rules once a visitor leaves this site or uses their tool.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies its result. We do not keep or log those search terms on our own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

When a visitor sends us a message, we may retain it long enough to respond and maintain necessary records. It is not shared outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Routine server and analytics records may capture technical facts about a visit:

  • Internet Protocol address
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them
  • Referring website, when available
  • Date and time of each request

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files that help measure traffic, popular pages, and site performance. Analytics providers may combine visits into general usage reports. A visitor may block cookies through browser settings, though some functions may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • Operate, maintain, and improve site performance
  • Route a submitted search to the selected provider
  • Understand which pages visitors use
  • Find abuse, faults, and technical problems
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain or sell a database of individual criminal records. Dixon County guidance identifies official sources such as the sheriff, County Court, District Court, Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes displayed on some pages. Their privacy policies, retention periods, sharing practices, charges, and matching methods govern information sent to them. Visitors should review a provider’s terms before entering a query because we do not control its systems.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Dixon County offices, Nebraska court services, the State Patrol, legal resources, advertisers, or search providers. The destination’s policy applies after a visitor follows the link. Advertising companies may also use their own technology to measure activity across websites.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:

  • A search provider that receives a query
  • Analytics vendors that measure traffic and reliability
  • Advertising networks that deliver ads
  • A government or law-enforcement body acting under valid legal process

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for data under our control. No internet service can promise perfect security, so these measures cannot guarantee that loss, misuse, or unauthorized access will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. If such information is identified, it may be removed after a valid request.

Your Data Rights

Rights differ by location and the law that applies. A visitor may ask to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold and may object to certain processing where applicable. Nebraska’s Public Records Statutes beginning at §84-712 govern access to records held by public bodies. Criminal-history dissemination is separately limited by §29-3523. Those government-record laws do not turn this private site into a public custodian or change the rules of an outside search provider.

  • Request a copy of personal data we retain
  • Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
  • Request deletion where the law permits it
  • Object to eligible forms of data processing

Updates to This Policy
